Which is a libpurple plugin that plugs into RTComm through telepathy-haze which comes back to my idea. I recognize my idea was overkill. Its the only hammer i have for the contacts app so to me its all nails. I did just remember, you could do something different, like Hermes or jid-to-email ( http://blog.barisione.org/2010-02/jid-to-email/ ) where you actually modify the evolution data store and add another number or modify the number listed. I've been tempted to write something like this where all of my contacts are added to Skype so I get name/picture caller id on skype.
