No he should use the stable version - and get updates when it's finished
and stable. I think 10 days is not the problem.

New Releases can break the system if it uses new libs that conflict with
software that uses outdated features of the lib.

Thats the reason why it's not activated on a default setup. I think it's
very save when you install through the package-manager - you get a huge
hint with all risks (i think it's extreme), but the most people can't
read and think it's a joke ...

When you call 10 days outdated - yes you are right :) Which software is
so important that it needs releases just in time? AGTL for example uses
a webupdate when geocaching.com changes - so it's up to date with the
html parser - but it think thats very special.
