You may want to try the latest dev version from the linuxsampler svn as many issues may already be fixed upstream.
This will produce a current linuxsampler.tar.gz to test with:- svn co https://svn.linuxsampler.org/svn/linuxsampler/trunk linuxsampler tar -czf linuxsampler.tar.gz linuxsampler/ Barry
