This is just a quick report (though I don't mind if somebody will chime in with
some help)
on the issues I had installing mageia 1 on this netbook.
I recently bought this same machine for my wife. I had put her previous laptop
on Mageia 1, and thought to do the same here, but immediately ran into the
wireless issue, and moved right to Cauldron.
Cauldron works fine on this box, so there is light at the end of the tunnel for
you :-)
So are there no problem enabling wired and wireless at the same time?
i.e. is this bug solved?

Ah, I had forgotten about that one. I haven't checked, as she uses
wireless exclusively. The only time I would use wired would be for a
reinstall or some massive in-house file transfer. I'll see if I can
grab some time with the machine to check this.
Are you using fglrx, or the open driver?
fglrx.
Does it come back correctly after a suspend to ram?
She's always on AC, so I disable suspend/hibernate except for on-battery
critical situations. I'll try to test this.
