Hi, I have been checking the change log from time to time, waiting for a hint on this promised new feature. Today I just tried it with IM 6.5.9-0 (2010-01-11) and saw that it is already working! The documentation though still needs to be updated at http://www.imagemagick.org/script/command-line-options.php#define If you apply that option to digital photographs, the files actually get a little bit larger than they should, due to the EXIF header, namely the thumbnail preview embedded. You can use jhead (http://www.sentex.net/~mwandel/jhead/usage.html) to get rid of either the thumbnail or the entire EXIF header: Deleting just the thumbnail preview: jhead -dt photo.jpg Deleting anything that is not really needed: jhead -purejpg photo.jpg Deleting the preview, however, makes up for most of the difference, so deleting the entire EXIF header doesn't really pay. Thanks for adding this option to IM!
