During the configure stage I recevied a message saying I should raise a bug,
because dependencies are not supported with this compiler.
However, I believe cc DOES support dependencies (-M).
Other problems:
makerules: used -fPIC (gcc flag), MipsPro uses -KPIC
configure: needed to pass --with-ccostypes=sgi, should be detected by configure
