And...

This only saves the message in a separate (external) file. I'd like to
have it as if I had received it the usual way. Currently, I have to
create an mbox folder that points to this message, open it, move the
message to the destination folder, delete the mbox folder.

Agreed. This is not something I need very often. It is just the natural
counterpart of 'include a message in the composer'.
