what i'm tackling right is a serious job search, i'm done with consulting
for a while.
given that i'm reviving c++ skills that have been parked since about 1995,
and familiarizing myself with a code base that is stylistically different
from what i was doing back then, i need to think small at first. i'm going
through the mail folder code trying to understand why the news folders are
currently coming up read only; it makes for a good exercise in
understanding the style and organization.
