 Hello,

Unfortunately this is mostly true. As I use it as my email client I do
work on it but mostly just to keep it working with the latest wx versions
(sometimes adding code to take advantage of the new features in wx) and to
fix the bugs which affect me personally as well adding the features which I
myself need. But no big new features have been added since quite some time.

First, I don't really advise using Mahogany as a news reader. It can be
used for this but it's really not convenient compared with a real news
reader. I use it for mail and very occasional news posting and continue to
use slrn for reading USENET.

Hmm, I'm not sure I understand this. "User name" and "password" are
usually not used with NNTP servers but if they're you can only enter them
here, where else? And the "server" field is mandatory, of course. I must be
missing something but I don't see anything especially unergonomic about
this.

Yes, of course, there are no artificial restrictions like this in
Mahogany. You just have to understand that the global options (e.g. the
SMTP server name in the global preferences dialog) can be overridden at any
folder level and that the child folders inherit the parents value. So you
can create an IMAP folder for the IMAP server itself and then create
folders in the tree for all the existing IMAP folders on the server under
it (this can be done automatically by choosing to "Browse subfolders" from
the main folder context menu). And so on.

I'd obviously be very glad to have any help with it. Unfortunately its
code is not always very clear (mainly because it's more than 10 years old)
but I'll definitely find time to help you to get to grips with it. Please
post here if you have any other questions.

 Regards,
VZ
