Dear Folks, As another year gets ready to bid us farewell, it is time to lay back and reflect on our accomplishments (or almost accomplishments) in last one year.
WPAA underwent many changes in last one year. We had new Treasurer in Bhagwati Karki, new daak moderator in Sanjay Sharma, and we grew from appx. 1500 members to a solid 1824. We started WPAA T-Shirts project which unfortunately turned out to be a tough one since many of you still have not received your T-Shirts. We apologize for the inconvenience, but are pleased to announce that Ashwani Singh [Tech,85] is on his way, and within a week or two, you will have your T-shirt. Thank You, Ashwani. [Please send me an email if you have already submitted your payment.] Moving on, I think it is time that we raise the curtain and bring to you some of the members we simply could not have done without. These WPAA members deserve every bit of appreciation for their untiring and encouraging support, and they are (in no particular order): - Sanjay Sharma [CBSH,1992] (you all probably know him as Brijwasi) - a great asset in managing weekly Daak - Narendra P Singh [Tech,1993] - Our quiz maestro - Gajendra Singh [Tech,1962] - great inspiration and encouragement - WPAA 'Representatives' and 'Executive Committee' - heart and soul of WPAA Please join me in giving them a big hand, and please, if you want to join us, in any which capacity, you are more than welcome. We need you, and all the help that you can offer. Finally, I would not be doing my job if I do not remind you to help us financially - no, we are not asking for any huge contributions. All we are asking for is that you please, please, send in your membership fee, and I assure you that we will be fine with that. IT IS A MEAGER USD12/Rs100 FOR ONE YEAR. Any contribution over and above the mandatory membership fee will be an immense morale booster for all of us working diligently to keep this wonderful service afloat.
