Dear List Members For information sake I wish to enlighten about the history regarding the legitimacy of the classes which are being conducted at Broadway Internet Club
During the meetings around the year 2000 in which I had attended, requests were made in the group for high quality education, even though we had meetings, and were generally not interested in any other activity including commercial activity. This request continued and some decisions were taken sometime in the year 2000 regarding education to be conducted at the requests made in the group 1. Persons able to teach were being looked for 2. Preferences for teachers were given to users within the meetings 3. Place of meeting was considered suitable for this purpose 4. Expenses were to be met by students 5. Compared to commercial institutions, costs were to be minimized 6. This being started it would not be stopped in future 7. This would not be advertised except minimally making known that it was there. My Suggestion is make available this history related to how all these things happened and also it would be unfair to criticize without this knowledge. One other thing which I have noted to be the culture of the meeting and mailing list is that when some users become verbally active bordering on tough language, the rest of the users become silent to avoid a flame war. My idea is also not to create a flame war, but just some suggestions to show that we functioned like one big family and generally did not have any difference of opinion about it. I do not believe it should change now. I know all the people who are involved in bringing this group to where it is now, I know there is no lack of transparency in any of these people, many things may not be complete when expressed in the mailing list and there fore I do not consider it the best medium for exchange except to fill in some gaps here and there. My hope is that people will be more considerate to others and end all this confusion. Though the people in the mailing list would not generally react to tough language, even quoted from a third party, I have found that there are strong views about it and need to be considered. This message just outlines some historical facts and a few suggestions. warm regards Nataraj
