Note that if you use postfix as your MTA, this process can be automated. See the POSTFIX.README file that should have come as part of the Mailman documentation.
If you use sendmail as your MTA, it is possible to modify the above process to work for sendmail instead of postfix. See <http://www.python.org/cgi-bin/faqw-mm.py?req=show&file=faq04.049.htp>.
However, if you use any other MTA, I'm not aware of an integrated method of achieving the same goals.
