Hey Mr. Knowles: Yes, I now remember being pointed to those at one time. However our server uses exim, which is why I'm building this script. Any idea why a command which works without a hitch when run on a command line would break down into errors and hang when run in a perl script as: $result = `newlist listname admin pw`; ???
I'm baffled. Those backticks have traditionally given me direct access to anything I can do at a shell prompt and I've never encountered this before. -- Hugh Date: Wed, 1 Sep 2004 10:09:56 +0200 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] From: Brad Knowles <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [Mailman-Users] Scripting newlist gives weird errors! Note that if you use postfix as your MTA, this process can be automated. See the POSTFIX.README file that should have come as part of the Mailman documentation. If you use sendmail as your MTA, it is possible to modify the above process to work for sendmail instead of postfix. See <http://www.python.org/cgi-bin/faqw-mm.py?req=show&file=faq04.049.htp>. However, if you use any other MTA, I'm not aware of an integrated method of achieving the same goals. -- Brad Knowles, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." -- Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790), reply of the Pennsylvania Assembly to the Governor, November 11, 1755 SAGE member since 1995.
