        Actually, you should be able to do that.  Mailman makes use of 
file locking, etc... to help ensure that the multiple processes on 
the system do not step on each other's toes.

        However, the Mailman processes in question would have to have 
exactly the same configuration, which would prevent you from being 
able to have two separate sets of Mailman installations on the same 
machine which were sharing the same configuration.
