What do you see for the line beginning __version__ = in /usr/local/lib/python2.5/email/__init__.py The traceback appears to be the same error that I've seen with email 3.0.2. I know that Python 2.5.1 shipped with email 4.0.1, and that doesn't seem to have this issue. I'm not sure about Python 2.5.
