Hi Benny,

I know you're on vacation, so I forbid you to read this before you're properly back in the office. This is just a minor bug (?) report, so you can flag it and review it when you have time.

---

I recently changed the font used when composing messages. Before, I was using Menlo 12pt. I switched to Helvetica 14pt. Now, when I reply to an email, the quoted text only fills 50% the width of my compose window. If I use a monospaced font to compose, the quoted text fills 100% of the compose window.

At first, I thought Helvetica is just a narrower typeface, but it seems more than that.

[Here's a screenshot](https://send.strangecode.com/f/6gJVmm9.png) comparing two compose windows with quoted text: one with Menlo 12pt, and the other with Helvetica 14pt.

[Here's a screen recording](https://send.strangecode.com/f/screen-recording-2025-07-28-at-00-55-11.mp4) showing how the quoted text reflows to stay at a 50% width – this is the effect that is most concerning, and makes me feel like this is a bug. What do you think?

Regards,
Quinn
