For example: bcrc.org.uk is a sports club. It has a booking system. If
one member wishes to email another member about a booking, they can
email [email protected] without needing to know the personal email
of the recipient, which is not published. (Of course, if the recipient
replies, that will reveal their email but that's their choice, not
mine.)

The officers of the club have role-based addresses as well. Yes, I
could run a mailbox service on the system (and in fact I do), but many
of the officers are not techy, and do not wish to manage multiple
email accounts.

Also, of course, there are the member, committee, etc. mailing lists -
mailing lists are no different from forwarding.

I do SRS to handle all these. At present it seems to work for
everybody, except when Microsoft glitches.
