I am somewhat in agreement with Alex on this. Personally, I never use the drawer because of its clunkiness (never liked its UI implementation in the first place!). The pop-up is very sufficient for my needs already.
An HUD would probably be a good replacement for the drawer, which can be a display element that remains on the screen whenever Mailplane is the active app. Just my 2 cents :) -----Original Message----- From: Alex Payne <[email protected]> Date: Tue, 5 May 2009 16:56:11 To: mailplaneapp<[email protected]> Subject: [mailplaneapp] Re: Source list or bar instead of a drawer? I was aware of the account switching popup, actually. It doesn't provide a key element that's provided by the drawer: a quick view of the number of unread messages in a given account. While the count is available in the popup, since the popup is hidden most of the time, it's not easy to "eyeball' the number of unread messages for each account. Regardless, the main issue is aesthetic, not functional: drawers are ugly, and even Apple no longer uses them.
