Sure.  I hereby release the foregoing under the LGPL; anyone is now
free to be right for the wrong reason, even in a commercial product
:-).

The "wrong reason" in question was that the cc command Time::HiRes
uses during configuration tests refers to perl_root, but perl_root
doesn't exist during a core build (or if it does it probably points
to an installed Perl and not the one being built).  When I come up
with a fix I'll send you a patch.
