For the login "helpdesk" itself you can go into the account profile and select the type of email that you want to receive. Newly reported issues and Closed issues are both available there. This has been around a while and should depend on the version (or at least I don't think so). In case you are using an ealy version of Mantis. Of course this does not help you on a per project basis.
