According to Bruce Dechant, who I believe did some research on this topic,
Only native 64 bit applications can use the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ location directly. 32bit applications will seamlessly be redirected to the above registry key when requesting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ MG is obviously reading the coords files where they reside. It just doesn't read the BC Albers. Perhaps those coords files need to be recreated in Map 3D on a 64 bit machine?
