I have just examined the two maps on-line side by side on two screens and there is no question that the Camacio 1568 (273mm X 491mm) is a second state of the Salamanca 1548 (261mm X 510mm). Has anyone commented on this in any publication? Except for the "waves" in the Mediterranean, they are almost exactly the same. Did Camacio copy Salamanca or even use the same plate? Anybody have any information?
