I know how to standardize addresses: I use a mix of Zp4, StreetRite, some
Access macros (to replace "Balto" with "Baltimore", for instance), and
lots of hand editing of data.

But has anyone here ever set up standards for requiring standard addresses
from others? In this case I'm talking about health care provider data,
submitted by a variety of managed care organizations.

It's ridiculous how bad the data can be: very hard to geocode. Don't know
if I can change state law, but what can I put in writing as guidelines for
submitting standardized address data?

Hints, or sample text welcome.

Margie
