MI GISDATADEPOT question

I've downloaded several political boundary files from www.gisdatadepot.com but have not been able to import them into MapInfo.   The files are downloaded as ponet.e00 files but the Arcmap translator reports errors and aborts, and a co-worker with the translator included with MI5.5 can't read the .e00 files either.   Has anyone else had similar problems or, better yet, does anyone have a solution for getting these files into the .mif or .tab formats usable in MI?   Ken
