Martin,

WOW!! It is absolutely, exactly what I needed and the scale option is the
'icing on the cake'.

I now have complete control over 4 views from one 'master' one and it
certainly makes demonstrations easier and much more flashy.

Once again the value of this 'list' has proved itself.

Thanks very much indeed.

Hi Nick

I saw Richards reply, but as you didn't indicate if you use mapbasic or not
thought I would fire through this program and mbx

Run the MBX - it basically adds a menu item "Centre" with two options:
                1) All Windows to Current
                2) And Scale All Windows to Current

The first option will set the centre of all map windows to the same as the
current (front) window. The second option will also set the scale to be the
same.

No error checking, and I haven't tried it on different projections but it
should work

Hope this helps

Martin

Subject: MI 'Chasing' windows

Hi folks,

I have just bought the digitised (scanned) historic mapping of Southampton.
It consists of 4 'snapshots' through time starting at 1836.

If I want to show the same geographic area at four different times through
history I can show each table within a different MapInfo map window.

If I pan in one of the windows to move to a different area, I then have to
pan the other three windows by the same amount to show the same new area.

Is there a way to update the other three windows automatically with the same
geographic area as the 'master' window (view), so that the windows appear to
chase each other? (I hope this explains roughly what I mean!!).

cheers
