Dyan,
I'm not familiar with the structure of the zip-codes table, but I think you
can use the Query>Find functionality which IS built into MapInfo.
1. Index the field you want to search on (eg. Zip_Code) using Table >
Maintenance > Table Strucutre.
2. Choose from the menu Query > Find
3. Choose the table and field to search on and click OK on the "find" dialog
box
4. Enter the Zip code you are searching for and MapInfo will find the object
on the map or browser window.

I hope you have money riding on this one! There is no function built into
Mapinfo that will look for a specific zip code. If you have a zip code table
open you can query it and then, in a mapper window, select Query | Find
Selection to center the map on the zip code that was found (provide one
_was_ found). You could certainly write such a functon using Mapbasic, but
there is nothing "built in" that works like this specificially for zip
codes.
