Greetings List,

It's really nice to have this kind of diversion from time to time.

As I usually work with kilometers I would ignore such riddles. But then
the numbers caught my attention. The circumference of the earth is about
40,000 km, so (some calculator punching) about 25,000 mile. The cities
in the Southern Hemisphere have larger figures and approach half the
equator length. 

Which leads me to GUESS that the location of this hypothetical signpost
is at the North Pole. Seems appropriate for a riddle for kids. Go figure
;-)
