Title: CONTOUR QUERY

Hi Peter,

Try putting in another column, type integer. If your contour values are decimals defined to one decimal place, then populate the integer column with ‘decimal column * 10’.

Then use the integer column to do the filtering.

DecCol      IntCol

2.0            20

2.5            25

3.0            30

etc

You can use the Mod operator on the IntCol using a value of 10 to get just the 2.0 and 3.0 contours, inverting this selection on the sample above would give you just the 2.5 contour. There are other variations you can try.

There may also be some issues with rounding, and you would need to check MapInfo behaviour on this, but this is the general idea.

Cheers

David Llewellyn

Subject: [MI-L] CONTOUR QUERY

                Hi all,
We have a table of .5m increment contour data that is in Decimal (6,1) table structure format and has 1 column only, being a height value. What we would like to be able to do is sift out any heights of certain values ........ ie: 1.0m    2.0m   etc.  Am using the Mod Operator    such as ..... Mod 5=0 .. but am getting mixed results because of the .5 values.

Hoping someone can assist ................. Many thanks in advance ..........

                                                           Regards
                                                                    Peter
