Thanks for your post about text editors. I'm going to check them out.
I have been using the GWD text editor that a friend showed me for
sometime now. Download is at gwdsoft.com/downloads/index.html. There is
also a 16 bit version for those few of us who have clients who use
outdated systems.
I have had great sucess in taking difficult to maintain .mbo projects
and putting into the text editor. It has made a tremendous difference.
The GWD text editor also permits syntax highlighting and many of the
other things you mentioned and it is so much easier to work with than
MapBasic's control+g and failure to recall previous search items,
failure to select entire variables that contain _ when double clicking.
What I also like about the GWD text editor is that when you open a file,
it takes you to the location in which you were last working. This is
great because it reminds me of what I was doing last time I looked at a
file.
