Part of setting up open street map data for hosting is to get 5 shapefiles but 2 of these shapes files (listed below) don't have an associated .index file:
$ wget http://www.naturalearthdata.com/http//www.naturalearthdata.com/download/10m/cultural/10m-populated-places.zip (1.5 MB) $ wget http://www.naturalearthdata.com/http//www.naturalearthdata.com/download/110m/cultural/110m-admin-0-boundary-lines.zip (38 KB) I noticed that these 2 shape files have 2 extra files .sbn and .shx which the other 3 shape files don't have. Should I run shapeindex.exe against this 2 shape files or just leave them the way they are? Thanks, John -- John J. Mitchell
