These two tickets allready makes me very happy. Aspecially the ticket 180
solves the problem.
I assume that those two functionalities are part of the current standard
Mapnik2 installation?

To the best of my knowledge this is not currently possible in stable or
trunk mapnik without some sophisticated preprocessing of the data.
