I'll be building a web-based application, and want to speed things up by
cutting out the 49 states which I don't need. I want to retain all the
appearence and functionality for just Maryland.
I'm finding it difficult to subset all of the same features from the
regular state map to make new geographic files
I've been through the tutorial which culminates on Page 208 of the
Maptitude Manual.
Some successes I've had so far, include figuring out this selection
criteria to be able to select all the counties in Maryland.

(When I selected from the state layer, there were so many holes in
Maryland from water, that I worried that other selections based on that
selection would be too iffy. Same potential problem, but on a lesser scale
with counties)
I succesfully saved all the counties, highways and cities into seperate
CDF files. And they do open, and layer properly.
But that doesn't seem to replicate all the colors, labels, and additional
layers that are in the original map created via the new state map wizard.
I can't figure out why only 4 layers appear in the pop-up box
County (High Res):1
State (High Res):1
Highway:1
City
Thus, I've got all the highways, but I can't seem to get them all colored
in, the way the original map appears.
It's a challenge to "think in Maptitude" after so many years with MapInfo,
but so far I like what I see. Just that I still don't completely "have
it" yet.
Ultimately I want to do geocode-based web applications for Maryland
only. All insights welcome.
