Maptitude - http://research.umbc.edu/~roswell/maptitude.html
I have a client with five NT 4.0 PCs with Maptitude on a network that were
printing just fine to a printer. Suddenly, 10 days ago, all five Maptitudes
couldn't see any printers even though other applications could. All five
had their default printer set to the same printer. When we just changed the
default, the Maptitude could see printers. When we changed the default back
to the offending printer, it couldn't see any. We deleted the offending
printer's driver and reinistalled it; then Maptitude could see printers
again. As far as we know nothing was changed about the printer or its
network connections or setup but something obviously did change. I know
Caliper is very interested in pinning this problem down but has not been
able to duplicate it in their network and with their wide variety of network
printers. If this happens to you, please try to find out what changed with
regard to the offending printer in the network and report it to Caliper.
This would be immensly helpful to everybody. I think the cause is clearly
something strange in the way the OS handles network printers.

Hi there:
Talking about printers problems. We have a big one here. Maptitude does
not recognize the default printer installed in a LAN when trying to
print, a nasty message said that no printers are installed, so layouts
and printing not available. There are more than one printers installed
in the networks, the default was removed and installed again, with
Maptitude open, and no success. This situation happens in machines with
Win 95 or 98, using Maptitude version 4.0 and above, not with Win NT or
with previous versions of Maptitude, even in Win 95. Any clue? Please
this is causing real problems.
Tanks in advance for your aid. Regards,
Reinaldo
