Margie:

Just select your links in the street layer, then export the selection to your brand new Bike Paths Layer. Once with the new layer, you can export to any intelligent format (like MI, AV or Atlas), and then back again into Mapt with 1 m shift to West and 1 m shift to North, for instance, using the Coordinate option available when you import (open). Then, the bike layer will be "almost" exactly at the same position, as the "seed" used (the street layer), but just enough shifted to make both layers visible with different colors and/or widths.

If  you need any more "tricks" just let me know.

Talking about DBF, files we have found that when using Mapt version 4.2 or above, if you convert (save as) any dataview to DBase file, this file wont be recognizable by.... DBase III! Does anybody realized that?

Regards from Brazil.

In MapInfo it's so easy to move a map object (line, polygon or point) to a
new layer.

Just :
- copy.
- make target layer editable.
- paste.

I'm almost astonished at how I haven't figured out how to select
Maptitude streets, and move them into my new bike routes layer.

How do I do this?

(I really don't want to do this in MapInfo. Streets are just too big to
have too many duplicate file layers around.)

10 years as a MapInfo "fanatic" but, still a (struggling) Maptitude
toddler,

Margie
