"Saving your theme settings to a file is one of the new features in 4.5!"
whoopee!!!

"*very* gratifying to hear something positive once in a while."

Hey, you could be working for ESRI. And then you'd know what real user
complaining is all about! (and by the way they have the lowest salaries in
the GIS business - as I am told by ESRI people, but I have no way of
verifying. Dangermond sends branch offices a box of oranges every year, one
box - local ESRI gossip)

Hello All,

Firstly, let me just indicate that Peter Van Denmark is away
conducting a training class. Otherwise, he would certainly be
involved in the latest flurry of list activity.

We certainly do. Especially me, as manager of tech support, it is
*very* gratifying to hear something positive once in a while.

To those of you have posted "maptitude wishes", many thanks. We can't
promise that all your wishes will get implemented immediately, but we
welcome user feedback. It may take some time, just technically, to
bring certain changes about -- it will take some time just to go over
the list of suggestions -- but we're committed to usability, and we
will go through the list. One of the challenges is to implement tools
in such a way that they're useful to newbies and power-users alike.
Keep the suggestions coming.

Shortcut keys: don't forget that virtually every command can be
accessed through Windows keyboard shortcuts -- those underlined
characters in the menus. For example: to open a file, you can
simply press Alt-F, this opens the file menu, pressing "O" then
brings you right to the File-Open dialog, or you can pick from
a list or recently opened files at the bottom of the menu.
similarly, the Window-Redraw command can be accessed by pressing
Alt-W then "R". Forgive me if I'm restating the obvious, I
simply want to make sure you're all aware of the standard
keyboard shortcuts.

Thematic "templates": Richard Hoskins wrote:

Saving your theme settings to a file is one of the new features in 4.5!

Thanks again for the wonderful and valuable feedback.
