Maptitude - http://research.umbc.edu/~roswell/maptitude.html
Margie,
Are there any licensing impediments to software companies outside of Caliper
using the CDF format? I recall reading somewhere (perhaps in the original
license agreement from Maptitude) that distribution of datafiles in CDF
format is restricted. Would similar restrictions apply to anyone wanting to
use the CDF format in their software? The same kind of issue comes up with
graphics software, where I've seen some graphics packages not supporting GIF
file format due to licensing/royalty issues (thus the growth of the
alternate format PNG, I understand).
Perhaps our friends at Caliper could fill us in if this is an issue. It sure
would be great to see the PCI viewer (and others) reading in Caliper files.
