Bob,
I've experienced this too, and I'm as interested as you are in finding out a
solution. My problem is a little different than yours in that it has come
only in printing, and then only occasionally. As you describe, the layer
impacted has been selected with a solid fill, and most polygons in the layer
print normally with a few left out for no discernible reason.
I've tried checking selection sets and polygon fill settings, with no
positive results. The only common denominator with some of mine has been
that they involved printing to Adobe Acrobat 3.0 (PDF Writer), and now that
I've upgraded to Acrobat 4.0 I haven't had any problems that way at all
(thanks for the helpful Acrobat comments from this group!).
Potential ideas:
- check that your video and printer drivers are current (again, this is
advice I received from this group a few weeks back), Maptitude is apparently
particularly demanding in this area
- if you have Acrobat 4.0, you could try creating an Acrobat file via PDF
Writer first, then print this to your printer next. This has turned out to
be somewhat more reliable than printing to my printer on a couple of jobs.
Sorry for the lack of really good solutions, hopefully knowing that more
than one has this same problem will encourage anyone with better solutions
to step forward.
