As long as I know, Firefox has not two brands (one for the community and
other for "official" stuff). If you're talking about the LibreOffice brand
with the TDF subline, I agree with you.

Yes, I know that. But you have to agree there's a lot of people concerned
about what they can or cannot do with the marks. I think it's somehow clear
in the mark policies, but the issue about profit.

Of course.

I didn't get your point here. Do you think I'm saying anything in disagree
with that?

Here I disagree with you. Politics is present in every instance of human
lives. Why should be different in FLOSS? Furusho can tell us a lot about it.
=)

Despite of that, FLOSS is present in all of the bigger companies in Brazil
and in the most of the middle ones. There are 100,000 unfilled IT positions
in Brazilian job market, and it is expected to be 600,000 by 2014. And most
of them require some kind of knowledge of FLOSS. So, the view that FLOSS has
something to do with "communism" or so, is not true. Maybe this perception
came from the fact that the government is held by Dilma Rousseff, from the
Workers Party (PT) and the major proprietary software players are asking for
help in neoliberal parties, like PSDB or DEM. But that has nothing to do
with our discussion here...

Yes, I do agree with that, in the case of the TDF subline logo.

Well, my college degree is in business administration. I was working on
marketing in part of my professional life. I can tell you that even when
someone who don't know what LibreOffice or TDF are, is using something with
LibreOffice mark, he/she is helping to promote LibreOffice/TDF. But people
use things they can identify themselves with. And spreading the mark outside
the FLOSS community should be one of our goals.
