Good morning,
My name is Álvaro Castillo. I am a DevOps Engineer with extensive
experience in the Linux ecosystem, having been an active user since
2007.
openSUSE has always been my reference distribution; I consistently
recommend it as the best entry point for newcomers joining the Linux
community due to its stability and robustness.
Regarding my background in community contributions:
Great to meet you. I'm Doug and am someone who you can interact with
related to advocating for openSUSE as an Ambassador. There are other
people who help with marketing on the https://t.me/openSUSE_Marketing
telegram channel. If you have any events you plan to attend or want to
run a booth, please email me and I can see what I might be able to order
or send to assist you with a booth. As far as contributions are
concerned, you can look at the various projects you might be interested
in helping with. Whether that is maintaining a package or helping to
create something for the project, there are a lot of things you can
choose from. We have some regular meetings (just not this week) that you
can join if you want. You can find the info at
https://calendar.opensuse.org/ Also, feel free to hop in
meet.opensuse.org/bar if you want to meet others. People occasionally
meet there and it's a good place to chat with others. We do have some
project where people have asked for help. You can find that at
https://etherpad.opensuse.org/p/help
OSEM is a project that can use some help.
Please email me directly and we can chat about other ways you might be
able to help the project.

Doug
