Dear colleagues,
The Humpback Whale World Congress (www.hwwc.mg ) will begin in just three
weeks, from October 16 to 19, 2025, in Tadoussac, Québec, at the heart of the
Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park.

Our Honorary President will be Pierre-Henry Fontaine, and the program features
keynote presentations by Joy Reidenberg, Robert Michaud, Erich Hoyt, Phil
Clapham, and Ted Cheeseman.

In addition to plenary sessions and scientific talks from international
experts, a full day of workshops will take place on Friday, October 17,
addressing:

• Industrial ports and maritime traffic
• Fisheries and whale coexistence
• Marine Protected Areas and conservation policy
• Marine engineering and innovations (passive acoustics, visual observations,
robotics, AI, eDNA)

The Congress will bring together scientists, conservationists, Indigenous
partners, industry representatives, and NGOs to foster dialogue and concrete
actions for humpback whale conservation worldwide.
We look forward to welcoming you to Tadoussac this October.

Best regards,
Lyne
