Dear colleagues, The Humpback Whale World Congress (www.hwwc.mg ) will begin in just three weeks, from October 16 to 19, 2025, in Tadoussac, Québec, at the heart of the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park.
Our Honorary President will be Pierre-Henry Fontaine, and the program features keynote presentations by Joy Reidenberg, Robert Michaud, Erich Hoyt, Phil Clapham, and Ted Cheeseman. In addition to plenary sessions and scientific talks from international experts, a full day of workshops will take place on Friday, October 17, addressing: • Industrial ports and maritime traffic • Fisheries and whale coexistence • Marine Protected Areas and conservation policy • Marine engineering and innovations (passive acoustics, visual observations, robotics, AI, eDNA) The Congress will bring together scientists, conservationists, Indigenous partners, industry representatives, and NGOs to foster dialogue and concrete actions for humpback whale conservation worldwide.
