Hi folks,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on providing some
additional metadata within a dataset for a mart. I need to add an
additional piece of metadata to each of our ensembl genomes mart
datasets, in this case the taxonomy id (and hence is inappropriate to be
put into our gene-centric mart tables). This information should then be
accessible to our collaborator via the perl api. Short of encoding it
into the datasetId or version attribute or providing an external lookup
list/table, is there anywhere sensible to put it in the DatasetConfig? I
already added it to the aliases attribute of the template DynamicDataset
element, but I don't think this ends up in the final dataset config as a
discrete entity (please correct me if I'm wrong).
Does anyone have any suggestions about the best approach to take?
