As it is I can't see any easy way of you doing this apart from reusing one of the existing bits of dataset metadata e.g. the version. Are you already using this to store any useful information?
Unfortunately, yes - this is the assembly version so its important to leave this unmolested...
One possibility though is to use this taxonomical ID as the datasetId. Its not always guaranteed that we will always have unique for some bacterial isolates strains, but this might be a possibility.
