BTW I saw online a paper by the Russian historian of science, V.P. Vizgin, "The nuclear shield in the 'thirty-year war' of physicists against ignorant criticism of modern physical theories." Phys. Usp., 1999, 42 (12), 1259-1283. http://tinyurl.com/dh7az In that paper, Vizgin takes aim at both mechanists and Deborinists as opponents of relativity and quantum mechanics, taking special aim at mechanists, A K Timiryazev, M.P. Kasterin, G.A. Khazarov as especially staunch critics of relativity.
