I was going to stay out of this until Louis decided to poke a stick in the hornet's nest.

First: What would you have Japan do for energy? No coal, No gas, No oil. Of course, they could invade China, or Mongolia, or Alaska. I don't think socialists would advocate that.

Second: If they could import coal, this would be an enormous burden on atmospheric CO2. Consider what this would mean for the health and welfare of the Japanese people. Or for the rest of the world. Check out the Internet. Start with http://www.environmentamerica.org/home/ reports/report-archives/clean-air/clean-air/dirty-air-dirty-power--- mortality-and-health-damage-due-to-air-pollution-from-power-plants Go on from there to consider the global warming problem and coal consumption: Do you want a Katrina on your front doorstep? Is there enough liquified natural gas to import for the world's 3rd largest economy?

Third: There are more than 4 billion people who are starved not only by international capital, but in addition the lack of clean water and clean energy. How much fossil fuel do you propose they burn? What's your program, Louis?

I've written on this on Marxmail and you can access that any time you want. In fact, Please quote me.

Clearly, the slogan must specify that nuclear power be under the control

Is that like Black Control of the Black Community?

I think that no nukes is a better slogan.
