The regime of Aleksandar Vučić and the machinery of the Serbian Progressive Party managed to almost completely privatise state, municipal and public institutions for their own benefit, starting in 2014 when Vučić became a prime minister for the first time. In the years since, many people left Serbia in pursuit of work and better living conditions. The lives of those who remain in Serbia are instrumentalized by the Progressive Party.
