Rakesh, have you been taking stupid pills lately? I have never written anything in favor of the Taliban. In fact, if you had been half-awake for the past three years, you might have noticed that I have been lambasting theocracy in Iran. Since Ahmadinejad is Rosa Luxemburg in comparison to Mullah Omar, why would I be an apologist for the Taliban. My position on conflicts such as these is to oppose U.S. intervention. Period. In cases where the government under attack has some class basis for support, such as the FSLN as the best alternative and Milosevic as the worst, I will take a more explicit position of support. > Oppose the NATO mission, but please don't underestimate the difficulties > of the situation. I meant to ask you, btw, what you made of Jonathan Steele's support of the NATO mission in Yugoslavia. How does that fit in with your ultraleft communism, if you are still into that. My guess is that academia has mellowed you unfortunately. ________________________________________________ Send list submissions to: Marxism@lists.econ.utah.edu Set your options at: http://lists.econ.utah.edu/mailman/options/marxism/archive%40mail-archive.com
