It is difficult to think in terms of uniting the working class 
when it is not in motion. For example, the classic example of a 
disunited working class was the Weimar republic, with the social 
democracy and Communists not being able to unite against Hitler. 
But those were massive socialist parties. We are years away from 
facing such problems in the US unfortunately.

In terms of creating a mass party, I think it is useful to study 
the example of the Greens, a party whose momentum ten years ago 
could have led to something very significant. That momentum in 
fact is what led a fifth column to develop inside the party backed 
by DP money and lawyers.

Something like that will rise again and we have to be in a better 
position to defend it against traitors.
