This is a tough one --- I think MOST SPEECH should be protected --- uttering the "N-word" in a class could really do a number on students ---- (I once had an argument with a friend at S-more who insisted on using the word to "reduce" its inflammatory nature --- the only counter-argument I could think of is calling a Jew a "future bar of soap" --- Suppose a professor used the "C-word" in a class ?
But expressing a CRAZY opinion about the moon landing, etc. --- so long as the prof didn't give a lousy grade to a student who disagreed --- well --- what's wrong with that --- there are LOADS of opinions that lots of people think are crazy --- the idea that the dynamics of capitalist economics stems from the class struggle is considered CRAZY by most economists in the US --- it might get someone NOT HIRED for a job if he/she expressed it in an interview ....
