Academic freedom is either there or it isn't.  And if it isn't, who
decides where to draw the line?  Not the Holy Ghost descending from the
ether into the materialist sphere.  And sure as hell nobody here, I
guarantee.

Educational institutions do tend to be extremely arrogant and delusional
about the importance of what they do . . . as though students are blank
sheets on which faculty can social engineer attitudes or values.   Rest
assured that 99% of this has nothing to do with good intentions.

Universities just don't like controversy and they know that they can count
on their faculty not to protect people who are "too high maintenance."
