[Edited Message Follows] I copy this 'But Marx maintained that only workers could free themselves—no one could do it for them. He argued that in struggle the working class would become a “class for itself”, one that consciously fights for its own interests.
And the process of revolution would not only transform the world but also the workers who made it. Marx wrote that only through revolution can the working class “succeed in ridding itself of all the muck of ages and become fitted to found society anew”.' Which came from " the * *emancipation of the working classes must be conquered by the working classes themselves.”* * He believed that no other class could liberate the working class; they had to take charge of their own struggle for freedom. * The process of revolution would not only change the external world (society, economy, and political structures) but also transform the workers themselves ( https://www.britannica.com/topic/class-consciousness ) If you read this and understand it it will be clear to you that the Chinese revolution and the Chinese state, previous one under Mao, and present one has nothing with Marx and that means with socialism in Marx views. Maybe in the views of various Marxist-Leninists who follow Stalinists' thoughts about revolution. * If you read Marx and find why Marx thought that the working class would be a digger of capitalism and about conditions where the working class found itself that could be a truth for industrial capitalism but I am not sure that most of that is relevant now. The time when “The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains" is a long time behind us. There are some different chains than those in the late 19th century but I am not sure that the working class is capable of seeing them or wants to be free of them. Marxists- Leninists for sure are not helping them in that. Just look at how much they have in the working-class movement. I think that was explained in "Farewell to Working Class" by Andre Gorz ( https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=dp_byline_sr_book_1?ie=UTF8&field-author=Andre+Gorz&text=Andre+Gorz&sort=relevancerank&search-alias=books ) which is more true now than when was published. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
